Restorative Justice is the Wave of the Future?

 
 
 
Restorative justice is a way of healing between perpetrator and victim that isnt punitive.Could this work in schools? In society?

  pundit   I agree Charlee. A civilized society works towards problem resolution as a process, not outcome based punishment 
that often serves to reinforce resentments. Our current retributive justice system

  charlee   Restoration of relationship is always the best. Reconciliation is a fundamental doctrine of Christianity and applies in all parts of society--family, friends, community,schools,society.

TallLankyBastard   I think that the age/maturity of the defendant matters, but in most cases punishment is required. I recently spent some time behind bars, and it did make me re-evaluate the situation.

  october   I don't see people accepting this because we are a society that likes to punish. We feel justified when somebody has been dealt with in a way that channels our anger. Regardless of how effective a movement
